Full Description

{1} Former Coffee Tavern, now 2 houses and restaurant. 1710. Ironstone with limestone dressings and stone slate roofs. Plinth, first floor band, moulded stone eaves, coped gables, grouped brick ridge and single gable stacks, 2 storeys plus attics, 5 bays. Late C19 fenestration. West front has a central 2-storey hipped stair turret with a cross mullioned casement. To left, similar 2-and 3-light casements. To right, a half-glazed door with overlight and beyond, a cross casement and a blocked door. Single casement flanked on either side by 2 cross casements. Above again, 2 hipped dormenrs. North gable has a late C20 shopfront with a bow window and to its right, a glazed door. Above again, a coped datestone inscribed "J S 1710".

{2} 2 houses made from former 1710 coffee house. Coffee tavern built 1710. 2 storeys plus atics, 5 bays. A coped datestone inscribed J S 1710. Late 20th century shop front in North gable. Now two houses and a restaurant.

{3} Coffee Tavern, Market Hill. Coffee Tavern situated on Market Hill. The building is dated 1710 and is a grade two listed structure. The building has a carriage arch to the rear. The structure now appears to be utilised as domestic flats. The building is shown on first and second edition OS maps as 'Inn'. Film 2, photo 12.
