Full Description

{1} Farmhouse, now a house. Early C17 with late C19 additions. Coursed and squared ironstone with limestone dressings and thatched roofs. Coped gables with kneelers, single stone ridge stack. 3 storeys plus garrets, 2 bays, L-plan. Windows are mainly ovolo moulded stone mullioned casements with hood moulds. South-west entrance has to left a gabled stair tower with flat-headed doorway, 6-panel C19 door and C20 flat hood, flanked to right by double casement and above it, a single casement. South east front has gabled wing to left with a blocked doorway. To its right, a 4-light casement. Above, a central triple casement on the first and second floors. Above again, a central single casement. Beyond, to right, a 2-storey C19 hipped brick addition; 2 bays, with a hipped porch in the return angle and C20 fenestration. Street side has large gable to right. To left, 2 triple casements. Above them, a double and a triple casement. Above again, in the gable, a smaller double casement, and above it, ingle casement. Interior has the top 2 flights of an oak spiral stair and a corniced Tudor arched ashlar corner fireplace, both early C17. Chamfered spine beams with ogee stops and moulded joists. 5 moulded-edge plank doors.
