Summary

Farmhouse, now house. Probably early C17th (but of more than one build), restored 1980. Coursed limestone rubble with plain tile roof (originally thatched), coped gables, brick and stone ridge stack and brick end stacks. 2 storeys.

Full Description

{1} Farmhouse, now house. Probably early C17th (but of more than one build), restored 1980. Coursed limestone rubble with plain tile roof (originally thatched), coped gables, brick and stone ridge stack and brick end stacks. 2 storeys. Plinth. Quoins. Ground floor has 3-light early C19 flat-roofed canted bay windows (with gudgeon-hung iron-framed casements) either side of 6-panel entrance door (top 2 panels glazed). To left is a blocked fire window and to a single-light iron-framed casement in blocked doorway. Wooden lintels. First floor has 2 2-light iron-framed casement windows and 2 3-light ovolo-moulded stone mullioned windows. To right a massive timber-framed gateway (with plain board gate) carried a rendered brick first floor addition with a 2-light casement window. Rear has stark addition of rendered brick and more recent one-storey kitchen addition. Interior: ground floor right hand room has large inglenook with slightly cambered, chamfered and stopped bressumer. Left-hand ground floor room has chamfered cross-beam and sympathetic C20 stone chimney piece. Wooden dog-gate at foot of stairs. Raised cruck roof construction (upper part damaged by fire in 1947 and now missing).
