Building record 2416/9/1 - No.12 West Street

House with 18th-centuryorigins. Two storeys in ashlar.

{1} C18th origins. 2 storeys in ashlar. New ashlar parapet of 3 panels and cornice above 3 windows, keystones reach cornice, no glazing bars. Remains of rusticated quoin on 1st floor to left. Stone pilasters to modern shop front covering entire floor. Nos 2 to 36 (even) and 42 to 46A (even) and 52 to 98 (even) form a group.

{3} Series of outbuildings running along the plot leading back from 12 West Street. The owner of the building reports that prior to its current use as storage the site was utilised as a dairy by the Co-operative Society.
