Full Description

A small low 2 storey house, probably later C17. Gabled roof, stone slates, high verges, 2 late brick chimney stacks. 2 widely spaced windows to both floors, 2 canted 3-light bays to ground floor, all windows hung sashes with glazing bars. Low plain doorway with double doors, 4 panels now glass. Centre pane of right bay missing. See also No 20. Nos 2 to 36 (even) and 42 to 46A (Even) and 52 to 98 (even) form a group.

Mentioned by John Clifton. The building is not shown as a public house on early OS maps, but is now known as the 'The Ship Inn' and may well be the original structure. Film 4, photo 20.
