Building record 2853/0/98 - The Cottage approx. 40m SE of The Manor House, off West Street

Summary
A mid to late 18th century house located 40 metres south east of The Manor House, on Eagle Lane. The house was used as The Eagle Tap Public House during the 19th century and is constructed of squared coursed limestone with a double pitch Collyweston slate roof. It is single story with an attic range lit by three hipped roof dormer windows. The garden front has a central door flanked by two, three light stone mullioned windows.

Full Description
House. Mid/late C18. Squared coursed limestone with stone slate roof. Originally 3-unit plan. Single storey with attic. 3-window range of leaded casements under wood lintels. 3 hipped eaves dormers, to attic, have similar casements. Central C20 door is also under wood lintel. Brick stack at ridge. Interior not inspected. Used as the "Eagle Tap" public house during C19. Included for group value.
