Summary

A late 18th century to early 19th century house with a 20th century extension to the rear situated on the western side of West Street. The house is constructed of coursed limestone with a double pitch Collyweston slate roof and brick gable chimney stacks. It is single storey with attics lit by two gabled eaves dormer windows. The entrance facade has a two window range of casements under wooden lintels with a central door. The house may have originally been a barn as there is blocked triangular vents in the gable wall.

Full Description

{1} House. Late C18/early C19. Squared coursed limestone, with Collyweston slate roof. Originally 2-unit plan. Single storey with attic. 2-window range of C19 casements under renewed lintels. Pair of gabled eaves dormers with similar casements. Central C20 door under concrete lintel. Brick stacks at ends. C19 lean-to extension to right, and C20 single-storey extension to rear left. Gable ends have triangular vents, now blocked, indicating that the structure may originally have been a barn. Interior not inspected but probably has remains of open fireplace now blocked.
