Summary

A mid 18th century house located on the eastern side of Park Street. The building is constructed of coursed limestone with a double pitch Collyweston slate roof with ashlar end and ridge chimney stacks and gable parapets. The street facade has a four window range of casements at the eaves and a pair of sash windows to the ground floor left and a shop front to the right. The house was altered during the 19th century to a house and shop called The Loft that has wings at right angles at the rear.

Full Description

{1} House, now house and shop. Mid C18 altered C19. Squared coursed limestone with Collyweston slate roof. Originally 3-unit plan. 2 storeys. 4-window range of C19 casements, set under eaves, at first floor. Pair of C19 single-light sash windows with ashlar surrounds, to ground floor left. C20 door, to centre, with similar surround and late C19 shop front with recessed door, to right. Ashlar gable parapets, to right, and stone stacks at ridge and end. C18/C19 2 wings at right angles to rear, that to right is C18 and has a lower eaves level. Interior not inspected but lean-to at rear noted as having C16 reset chambered fireplace bressumer with roll moulding and Tudor rose and folded leaf decoration. Included for group value.
