Full Description

{1} House. C17 and C19. Squared coursed limestone with Collyweston slate roof. Originally 2-unit plan. Single storey with attic. 3-window range, at ground floor, of restored leaded casements under wood lintels. Centre window which was originally a doorway, has a wooden casement. 2 hipped eaves dormers also have leaded casements. Brick stacks at ridge and end. Gable ends have C20 casement windows. Entrance at rear. C19 single-storey extension to rear. Wall attached to rear has reset headstone with inscription to John Desbrow 1719. Said to have been used as a hearth stone and arch-head niche reset from fireplace inside the building. The Desbrow family are recorded as holding the dwelling in 1778. Interior has small open fireplace with bressumer.

{3} Stone Cottage one storey and attics, 17th century. Reset in the garden:two pilasters with chamfered capitals and bases and round-headed semicircular niches removed from the fireplace; tombstone to John Desbrow, 26 October 1719, found as hearthplace on first floor.
