Full Description

{1} Public house, now house. Probably early/mid C18 extended late C18 and C19. Squared coursed limestone and lias with thatch roof. Originally 2-unit plan now T-shape. Single storey with attic. Elevation to Main Street has gable end, abutting road, to left. One-window range, to right, with leaded casement under wood lintel. C20 casement, to attic, in gable end is also under wood lintel. Right return wall of cross-wing has C19 style casement, under wood lintel, and part leaded casement, under eyebrow dormer to attic. Niche at abutment of ranges has wood lintel. Elevation to left of gable is a similar one-window range with a C19 part-glazed door under a wood lintel. Gable end, to right, has C20 lean-to porch, with casement window above, under wood lintel. Brick stacks at ridge and end. Wing to rear is similar, with thatch roof and lower eaves level. Interior not inspected. Formerly The Horse and Jockey public house.

{3} Former Horse and Jockey Inn. Coursed rubble walls with much ironstone, thatched roof, originated in the 18th century as a class 4b house of one storey and attics. Extended to the south and north in the 19th century.
