Building record 2790/7/2 - Dovecote & Attached Wash House c.5m Norh of No.48 Main Street (Gable End)

Early 19th century Dovecote and wash house.

{1} Dovecote and attached wash house, now outbuildings. Dovecote probably C18, wash house has datestone I.H.1832. Squared coursed limestone with Collyweston slate and pantile roofs. Rectangular dovecote has central door under wood lintel. Gabled roof. Single-storey wash house, attached to north gable, has datestone in gable end. Interior not inspected but dovecote noted as having 412 nesting boxes.

{3} Behind the house, an early 19th century Dovecote for 412 pigeons; a single storey wash-house with date-slab inscribed 'IH 1832' was added against the south side
