Full Description

{1} Farmhouse. C17 origins reconstructed late C19. Squared coursed limestone with ashlar dressings. Collyweston and Welsh slate roofs. 2-unit plan with central hall. 2 storeys. 4-window range of chamfered stone mullion windows. Centre 2 windows to first floor are of 2-lights, other flanking windows are of 3-lights. Similar single-light window to ground floor, right of centre. 6-panel door to left of centre, is under wood lintel. Ashlar quoins. Ashlar gable parapets and ashlar end stacks, each with pulvinated frieze. One bay, attached to left, may have been a separate dwelling. C18 stables, attached at right angles to rear, have plank doors under wood lintels and 3 hipped dormers. Chamfered plinth and Collyweston slate roof. Part of this range may have been a barn. Interior of house not inspected but noted as having remains of open fireplaces with bressumers.

{3} Manor Farm. Two storeys, coursed rubble with Welsh slate roof, apparently late 19th century in present form. The chimney stacks with pulvinated friezes and the chamfered mullioned windows may have been reused; the large stack at the east end may also be earlier. Entrance formerly from the rear into central stair compartment; a large room at each end, giving a plan approximating to class 5. South of the house is a a barn with triangular ventilation holes and large opposed doors, 18th century but with 19th century roof. To west of the yard are the remains of the tithe barn with high weathered plinth and triangular ventilation holes, 17th century.
