Summary

Used as the Wheel Inn during the 19th century. A mid 18th century house situated on the northern side of West Street opposite its junction with Eagle Lane. The house is constructed of squared coursed limestone with a double pitch Collyweston slate roof with brick and stone chimney stacks at each gable. The street front has an irregular two window range of casements under wooden lintels with a door to the left of centre. There have been 19th century alterations and extensions when it was used as an inn.

Full Description

House. Mid C18 and C19. Squared coursed limestone with Collyweston slate roof. Originally 2-unit plan. 2-storeys. Irregular 2-window range of C19 casements, under wood lintels. 4-panel door, to left of centre, is also under wood lintel. Brick and stone stacks at ends. Left gable has C20 casement window.
