Summary

An early 19th century house located on the northern side of West Street. The building is constructed of squared coursed limestone with an ashlar facade and a shallow pitch Collyweston slate roof with end chimney stacks. The street front has a three window range of leaded casements to the first floor with stone lintels and key blocks. On the ground floor is a central door with a rectangular fanlight, flanked by canted bay windows with flat roofs. The house has a late 19th century extension to the rear.

Full Description

{1} House. Early C19. Squared coursed limestone with ashlar facade and Collyweston-slate roof. Originally 2-unit plan. 2 storeys. 3-window range of leaded casements, at first floor, under stone lintels with keyblocks. 2 canted bay windows, with iron casements and flat roofs, at ground floor. Central part-glazed, 4-panel door, has rectangular fanlight and stone lintel with keyblock. Ashlar gable parapets and stone stacks at end. Later C19 extension to rear. Interior: plain panelled dado in room to right of entrance. Stick balustrade to first floor landing. (RCHM: An Inventory of Architectural Monuments in North Northamptonshire: p104)
