Full Description

House and shop, shop now disused. Early C19. Squared coursed limestone with ashlar facade and Welsh slate roof. T-shape plan. 3 storeys. Main front is a 4-window range of 8-panel, unhorned sash windows under stone lintels with keyblocks. 6-panel door, to left of centre, has rectangular fanlight with glazing bars and moulded wood doorcase with roundels and pediment over. Shop window, to far right, has pair of central, part-glazed, stable doors and continuous stone lintel with 3 keyblocks. Chamfer d plinth and raised band between floors. Moulded wood cornice and ashlar gable parapets. Stone stacks at ridge and end. Rear wing is 2-storey, part with lean-to roof, and has C19 casement windows. Interior not inspected but noted as having early C19 fittings. Originally built as a house and attached butchers shop. (RCHM: An Inventory of Architectural Monuments in North Northamptonshire: p105)
