Summary

A house located on the northern side of West Street that was built during the 18th century and restored in the 20th century during which time an extension with a garage door was built to the right of the house. The building is constructed of regular coursed limestone with a thatch roof with ashlar ridge and end chimney stacks and a raised parapet on the western end. The street front has two eyebrow dormer windows above two, three light windows and a central door. The extended part of the building has two eyebrow dormer windows over a garage entrance and a door.

Full Description

{1} House. Probably early C18 restored C20. Regular coursed limestone with thatch and concrete tile roof. Originally 2-unit plan. Single-storey with attic. 2-window range of C19 casements, under wood lintels. 2 C20 casements, with glazing bars, under eyebrow dormers, to attic. Central C20 door, under wood lintel. Ashlar gable parapets, to right, and stone stacks at end. C20 extension to right, has garage door, 2 C20 casements and concrete tile roof. Interior not inspected but noted as having remains of open fireplace. Included for group value. (RCHM: An Inventory of Architectural Monuments in North Northamptonshire: p103)
