Summary
A house situated on the northern side of Stamford Road that was built in 1761 from coursed limestone with a Collyweston Slate roof. The building has three units, the central unit is of two stories with stone gable chimney stacks and the others are single story. The unit on the left has sham framing and a brick gable chimney stack. The building was altered in 1780 and during the mid 18th century and renovated in the 19th century.

Full Description
{1} Shown as Nos.4 and 6 on Ordnance Survey map. House. Datestones G/RAI/1761 for Goodwin family and 1780 and C19. Squared coursed limestone, part-painted, and Collyweston slate roof. Originally 2-unit plan. 2 storeys. 2-window range of C20 p.v.c. casements under original wood lintels. Central, part-glazed, door is also under wood lintel. Stone stacks at end. Datestone above door. Single-storey 2-window range, attached to right, is similar and was a separate dwelling. 2-storey one-window range, attac ed to left, is probably C19 and has recessed entrance with studded door and C19 casement window attached. Upper storey has fake timber framed appearance. 2 rear wings, one is mid C18 the other has datestone 1780. Interior not inspected but probably has remains of open fireplace.
