Summary

A 17th century house situated on the southern side of the High Street, stepped back from the street, behind numbers 4 and 6. The house is constructed of squared coursed limestone with double pitch and hipped Collyweston slate roofs with a large central stone chimney stack and a stone chimney stack at the left gable. It is single story with an attic range lit by a single gabled eaves dormer to the northern side and two on the southern side. The main elevation has a range of blocked window openings and a door to the far left under a flat hood. A lean to extension was added to the left during the 19th century that has a garage door and modern windows under wooden lintels.

Full Description

{1} House. C17 and C19. Squared coursed limestone and has with Collyweston slate roof. Originally 3-unit plan, now 2 units. Single storey with attic. Elevation to High Street has various blocked openings and a C20 door, under wood lintel, to far left. Gabled eaves dormer with C20 p.v.c. casement, also to far left. Evidence of narrow fire window, with stone surround, to centre of range. Hipped lean-to roof to far right. Large central stone stack and stone stack at end. C19 lean-to extension, to left, has C20 p.v.c. casement window under wood lintel. Rear elevation has central C19 casement window under wood lintel and 2 gabled eaves dormers. Dormer to left has 2-light stone mullion window. Interior not inspected but probably has remains of open fireplace.

Its is single story with an attic with gabled eaves dormers and a range of blocked window openings on the High Street elevation. The building has a large central stone stack and a stone stack at the end. 19th century alterations have been made to the house. The building is Listed at Grade II.
