Summary
A house that was built in 1649 situated on the southern side of the High Street. The house is T shape in plan and is constructed of squared coursed limestone with a double pitch Collyweston slate roof with a stone and brick chimney stack to the left and an ashlar stack to the right. It is two stories high with canted bay windows and a three window range of two light stone mullion windows. A sundial datestone is located in a gable apex with the inscription IL. LY/1649 and the building has had some late 18th century alterations.

Full Description
{1} House. Datestone IL.LY/1649, probably reset, C17 and late C18. Regular coursed limestone with Collyweston slate roof. T-shape plan. 2 storeys. Main front is a 3-window range of 2-light ovolo-moulded stone mullion windows at first floor. 2 late C18 canted bay windows to ground floor left and right, have ashlar bases and slate roofs. Central 6-panel door, with glazed toplights, is under wood lintel and hood with hipped roof. Brick and stone stack to left and ashlar stack to right. Gable end of rea wing has two 2-light stone mullion windows with chamfered mullions; one is probably a C19 copy. Datestone on sundial in apex of gable. Interior has remains of 2 open fireplaces in rooms to left and right of entrance. Early C19 staircase with stick balustrade.
