Summary

A late 17th century house with an attached outbuilding situated on the eastern side of Church Street. The house is constructed of squared coursed limestone with a Collyweston slate roof. The building was altered in 1822 and during the late 19th century which included a brick extension to the rear. Noted as having a former bakehouse.

Full Description

{1} House. Late C17, datestone 1822 and late C19. Squared coursed limestone, and ironstone and yellow brick with Collyweston slate roof. Originally 2-unit plan, now irregular L-shape. Part single storey with attic and part 2 storeys. Elevation to Church Street is a 4-window range of C19 and C20 casements, some with glazing bars, under wood lintels. Gable to left is 2 storeys. 2 gabled eaves dormers to attic, centre and right, have C19 casements. 6-panel door to right of centre has integral lintel wi h centre casement. Brick and stone stacks at ridge and lateral brick stack to left. Stone stack at apex of left gable has datestone below. Straight joist between main range and bay to far right. Rear elevation has late C19 brick extension to centre. Interior not inspected but noted as having a former bakehouse to rear.
