Full Description
{1} Stone shaft, probably of a cross or boundary stone. Probably medieval. Limestone ashlar. Square shaft set in square socket, surmounted by C20 weathervane.
{3} Structure. Early C20th Hunt Boundary Stone. Earlier confusion with cross.
{4} Undated photo.
{5} Not a cross. The present landowner states that this shaft was erected "early this century" by a former tenant to mark a hunt boundary. Examination supports a modern origin; it is about 3.0m in height topped by a weather vane with a fox motif.
