Roman pottery and kiln debris and have been discovered during fieldwalking survey. Nearby, limestone rubble was observed in a drainage trench.

{1} Fieldwalking of 1959/60 by Hollowell. Romano-British pot sherds, kiln debris (baked clay with grass impressions) and a large quantity of limestone rubble found in a drainage trench at SP793592, near The Cherry Tree Inn.
