Building record 2888/4/3 - Dovecote c.30m South-West of Church Farmhouse
Please read our guidance about the use of Northamptonshire Historic Environment Record data.
Summary
Late 17th century dovecote approximately 30 metres southwest of Church Farmhouse. Rectangular building divided internally into two compartments by a stone wall with a central doorway. In the early 18th century a stable block was built adjoining the dovecote. This was later converted to the second higher chamber of the dovecote. Due to settlement problems the southern gable and the upper sections of the building were rebuilt before 1750. Further alterations were carried out pre-1775 when the barn next to the dovecote was demolished.
