Full Description

{1} Dutch barn and attached cartsheds. Probably mid C19. Squared coursed limestone with plain tile roofs. 6-bay Dutch barn with open sides formed with square wood posts and diagonal struts below the eaves. Stone gable wall to south. One-unit, 2-storey, bay attached to north of Dutch barn, is under the same roof, and has a doorway at ground floor with a shute at first floor. A 2-bay range, attached to the north gable, has a window and door opening at ground floor, both under gauged stone heads, and a lower eaves level. A cast iron drive wheel projects above the window opening. An 8-bay range of cart sheds is attached to the north and has square wooden posts between bays. A similar range is attached at right angles, to the south of the Dutch barn. Interiors not inspected but probably retain original roof structures. The Dutch barn and attached cartsheds are probably of a later build than the farmyard ranges at Home Farm, however they form part of the model farm layout with Home Farmhouse ( .v.), barn and attached farm buildings approximately 30 metres north-west of Home Farmhouse (q.v.) and Farm buildings and attached dovecote approximately 30 metres south-west of Home Farmhouse (q.v.).
