Full Description

Public house, now house. Early C19 extended C20. Probably by Humphrey Repton and John Addey Repton for George Freke Evans. Squared coursed limestone with Collyweston slate roof. Originally irregular U-shape plan. Two storeys with attic. Main front is a 3-window range of leaded casements with diamond panes, under shallow stone arches. Centre bay breaks forward with gable over and barge boards. Flanking first floor windows have gablets over, with similar bargeboards. Single storey porch attached t right, has C20 door. Elevation to left of main front is of 2-window range with gable and bargeboards to right and similar gablet to left. Windows to right are blind. C20 single storey extension to centre rear. Lateral stone stack to rear. Interior not inspected but room to left noted as having reset C17 fireplace with 4-centred arch head. Originally the Stafford Knot Public House.
