Summary

An early 18th century farmhouse with 19th and 20th century extensions and alterations located on the south eastern corner of the junction between Blatherwyke Road and Main Street. The farmhouse is constructed of regular coursed limestone, ashlar and brick with a double pitch thatch roof with chimney stacks at the gable ends. The main front has a four window range of three light casements under wooden lintels to the first floor with similar windows beneath. The elevation to the rear has three eyebrow dormer windows and an asbestos roof.

Full Description

{1} Farmhouse. Early C18 and C19. Regular coursed limestone with thatch and corrugated asbestos roof. Originally 3-unit plan now L-shape. 2 storeys. Main front is a 4-window range of C19 casements under wood lintels. Window to left of centre was originally probably a door. Evidence of roof raising between first floor windows. Ashlar gable parapet to right with ashlar end stack, having moulded cornices. Brick stack to left end. Rear elevation has 3 first floor casement windows under shallow eyebrow d rmers. C19 and C20 extensions to rear with corrugated asbestos roof. Interior not inspected but noted as having open fireplaces.
