Full Description

{1} Barn and attached outbuilding. Probably late C18. Squared coursed limestone with corrugated asbestos roofs. Originally single-unit barn and attached outbuilding which may have been a granary or stables. Single-storey barn, outbuilding to right has loft over. Various casement openings under wood lintels. Range with lower eaves level links barn and outbuilding. Ashlar gable parapets. Rear elevation to farmyard has various C19 doorways under wood lintels. Interior not inspected. Included for group value.

{3} A level 2 building survey was undertaken of the barn and attached outbuildings in advance of proposed refurbishment and conversion in 2019. The gig house, former cart shed and barn at Tansor Lodge date to the later 18th and early 19th century. Their successors can be seen in the form of the courtyard farm to the east, which have also been the subject of a historic building survey.
The former cart shed appears to have a slightly later roof structure than the gig house and barn buildings. Coupled with the difference in wall line this may suggest a later construction date for the cart shed.
