Full Description

{1} House. C17 origins, altered C18 and C19. Regular coursed limestone and brick with Colleyweston slate roof. Originally 3-unit plan. 2 storeys. 4-window range, at first floor, of C19 casements, with glazing bars, under wood lintels. 3, late C19, canted wooden bay windows at ground floor. Part-glazed double doors, to right of centre, have C17 moulded stone surround with 4-centred arch head. Shallow buttresses at corners. Ashlar gable parapets and ashlar ridge and end stacks, with moulded cornices. 19 one-bay extension is attached to left. C19 and C20 extensions to rear. Interior not inspected but noted as having open fireplace with arched bressumer in room to far left. Centre and right room are now one, with C19 fireplaces at either end.

{3} The Cottage, a two-storey, three-room house, apparently of C17th or C18th origin, extensively modernised c.1900. Some early re-used features include a moulded and chamfered mantel beam, a doorway with a four-centred head, double ogee moulded, perhaps C15th and an ovolo-moulded mullioned window, early C17th. An internal stack was probably replaced by a smaller one in c.1900.
