{3} Examinations of the groundworks beneath the floor in the south aisle revealed a disturbed grave earth containing fragments of human bone and a fragment of decorated grave slab of probable 13th century date. The south aisle had therefore been built over part of the earlier graveyard. Examination of the grave slab revealed signs of re-working, indicating that before being discarded it may have been incorporated within the fabric of the church prior to the construction of the south aisle.
