Full Description
{1} Rectory, now house. Said to be c.1633, late C18 and early C19 additions. Squared coursed limestone wtih Colleyweston slate roof. Orignally 3-unit plan, now double-depth. 2 storeys with attic. Main front is a 7-window range with central gabled porch. 2-storey square bay windows with stone mullions and gablets breaking forward at mid-points of flanking ranges. Other windows are 2-light stone mullion windows and one single-light window to first floor far right. Some stone mullions may have been ren wed C19, all have leaded lights. C17 panelled door in porch has strap hinges and 4-centre arch head with moulded stone surround. Ashlar gable parapets and ashlar stacks at ridge and end, that to far right is C20. Elevation to left of main front has gable to right with 2- and 3-light stone mullion windows and early C19 two-storey polygonal bay with mansard roof to left. 3 faces of bay have sash windows and centre ground floor has sash door, all with plain ashlar architraves and keyblocks. Rear e evation is an early C19 three-window range to right with sash windows under stone lintels with keyblocks. Two gabled wings to left are probably late C18 with sash windows under gauged stone heads. Interior: entrance hall has C17 fireplace with 4-centred arch head. Main staircase and service staircase are early C19 with stick balustrades. Drawing room to rear has early C19 moulded cornice.
