Full Description

{1} House said to be mid C16 origins, mainly mid and late C18 and C19. Squared coursed limestone with ashlar façade and Colleyweston slate and concrete tile roofs. Originally 2-unit plan. 2 storeys with attic. 3-window range of sash windows with glazing bars, flanking windows are tripartite; all under gauged stone heads. Raised string coursed between floors. Pair of flat-topped roof dormers and ashlar gable parapets and kneelers. Remains of ashlar stacks at ends. One-window range attached to right is similar, probably of different build, with sash windows with glazing bars. Evidence of blocked door to left. Entrance now at rear. C19 range, remodelled C20, is attached at right angles to rear. Interior: centre room has ceiling beams and open fireplace with painted inscription, said to be the Ten Commandments, on the bressumer. Used for a time as a Quaker Meeting House.

{2} Notes on inscription on open fireplace-appears to be the ten commandments from Exodus xx/12. Also internal plan of this room in the building.
