History
1086 Domesday Survey recorded Luhwic with one mill rendering 64d.
1275 Baldwin de Drayton dies, seized of various properties including a mill.
1777 James Eaton, miler, at Lowick
1785 John Patrick of Sudborough insured £100 on his water corn mill and houses adjoining at Lowick, tiles and thatched.
1869 John Jervis was last miller here, to be in trade directories.
Head race later used to power a water turbine driving pumps, on the west side of the brook, lifting water to Drayton House.
1989 Advertised for sale as a Fine watermill at £375,000 but already had been converted to a dwelling, with considerable alterations.
Eyre and Jeffreys' 1791 map shows it un-named; 1821 survey plan for OS marks it Mill; 1827 Bryant's map marks it Mill.

The building is of two storeys with attic. It is of stone with a red pantiled gabled roof, having three dormers in the south east side. The fenestration and doors have been significantly altered. Conversion to a dwelling was unlikely to leave any features relating to milling. There may be some sub-ground level remains concerning the waterwheel at the south west end of the building.
