Building record 1842/0/27 - No.66 High Street

{1} House, now shop and flats. Mid C18 and C19. Squared coursed limestone and brick, part rendered, with plain-tile roof. T-shape plan. 2 and 3 storeys. Elevation to street is a 3-window range at first floors of unhorned sash windows, with glazing bars, under wood lintels. Late C19/early C20 shop front, now modified, has canted sides and central glazed doors. Arch-head entrance to through passage to right of shop front. Ashlar gable parapets with kneelers on line of party wall. Rear wing is 3 stor ys, remodelled C20. Included for group value.

{2} Former 18th century house, became also a shop. A late 19th/early 20th century shop front survives. Now shop and flats. Mid 18th and 19th century house. T-shape plan. 2 and 3 storeys.3-window range at first floor. Rear wing is 3 storeys remodelled 20th century. Late 19th century/early 20th century shop front. Arch head entrance to through passage to right of shop front. Now shop and flats.
