Building record 1679/0/43 - No. 11 Market Square

{1} House. C17, late C18/early C19. Squared coursed limestone with plain tile and slate roof. Originally 3-unit plan. 2 storeys. 4-window range of irregularly spaced unhorned sash windows with glazing bars under wood lintels, that to far right is a twin sash window. Far right ground floor window is a C17 four-light stone mullion window with leaded lights. Window to right is a similar C19 copy. C19 ribbed door with ashlar porch to right of centre. Ashlar gable parapet to left and brick and ashlar stacks at ridge and end. Centre stack has moulded cornice. Mid C19 carriage arch with sash window above is attached to right and visually forms part of elevation of No. 12, Market Square (q.v.). Rear elevation was reconstructed late C18/early C19 with slate roof and sash windows.

{3} 17th century house, late 18th/early 19th century. Originally 3-unit plan. 2 storeys. 4 window range. Mid 19th century carriage arch. Rear elevation was reconstructed late 18th/early 19th century.
