Full Description

{1} Dovecote. Probably mid C16. Squared coursed limestone with pantile roof. Rectangular plan. Central plank door under wood lintel. Gabled roof with fragments of ashlar parapets. Casement openings under wood lintels in apex of gables. C20 door in right gable. Raised string course below eaves to each elevation. Interior not inspected but said to retain nesting boxes in upper stages. Probably formed part of the Peverel Manor at Raunds.

{3} The Grade II listed dovecote is in poor to very poor condition and is possibly going to be demolsihed. (27/07/1998). It has a number of interesting features including a pantille roof, windows and door surrounds and nesting holes. The steep pitch of the roof suggest that it may have originally been thatched.

{7} Two undated photos, also undated photo showing 1301/14/1, 1301/14/2, 1301/14/3, also photo dated 24.08.1995 showing 1301/14/1, 1301/14/2 and 1301/14/3;
