Full Description

{1} Terrace of 3 estate cottages. Circa 1848 for the Althorp estate. Coursed ironstone with Flemish bond brick front with ironstone dressings. Slate roof with stone coped gable ends with shaped kneelers. Brick gable end and axial stacks.

PLAN: Row of three cottages with central wing at rear flanked by outshuts. Neo-Tudor style.

EXTERIOR: 2 storey. Symmetrical 2:1:2 window front. Central projecting gabled bay with canted bay window with battlements and large 3-light 4 centred arch window above, shield in gable and finial. To left and right recessed porches with chamfered 4-centred arches and arched rib doors; flanking 3-light wooden mullion-transom windows and 2 light windows on first floor. All windows in chamfered stone openings and with leaded pane casements; centre first floor with pointed arch lights. At rear central gabled wing flanked by single storey outshuts; C19 leaded pane casements and plank doors.
