Summary

Congregational Chapel built circa 1792, refronted 1832. Brick with slate roof. Single unit chapel with vestibule and gallery. Entrance front has late 19th century brick porch flanked by 2 arch headed windows with glazing bars, 2 Diocletian windows at first floor with circular window between. Plain gable above. Late 19th century schoolroom extension to left.

Full Description

{1} Congregational Church. c.1792, refronted 1832. Brick with slate roof. Single unit chapel with vestibule and gallery. Entrance front has late C19 brick porch flanked by 2 arch headed windows with glazing bars, 2 Diocletian windows at first floor with circular window between. Plain gable above. Late C19 extension to left. Side elevations have windows with arch heads and glazing bars. Interior not inspected. (Yelvertoft by Yelvertoft Womens Institute).

{2} This congregation originated in the early 18th century when the minister from Welford registered a house for mid-week preaching. In 1758 a barn was fitted up for a meeting-house and the present chapel was erected in 1792; it was enlarged to the front in 1832 and schoolrooms built in the mid-19th century. Originally 34.5ft by 29.5ft. In the west wall wall are two round-arched windows of 1792.
