Full Description

{1} Public House now house. Datestone WS/1700. Regular coursed lias with thatch roof. Originally T-shaped plan. Single storey with attic. Elevation to road of 2-window range with gabled cross wing to left breaking forward. Casement windows under wood lintels. Gabled dormer to right has 2-light stone mullioned window with leaded lights and datestone above. Ashlar gable parapets and kneelers; brick and stone stacks at ridge and end. Mid C18 extensions to rear and C20 extension to left. Entrance at rear. Interior: not inspected but noted as having remains of open fireplace with bressumer. Some ground floor windows have fielded panelled shutters. Formerly The Chequers public house.
