Summary

Wesleyan Methodist Chapel. Datestone 1835. Squared coursed lias with slate roof. Single-unit chapel with vestibule and gallery. Gable elevation to road has central 6-panelled double doors with pointed head and ashlar surround; flanking windows in similar openings have intricate Y-tracery. Central first-floor window has pointed head and ashlar surround with blank upper section and casement with glazing bars in the lower section. Steeply pitched roof with ashlar gable parapets.

Full Description

{1} Methodist Chapel. Datestone 1835. Squared coursed lias with slate roof. Single-unit chapel with vestibule and gallery. Gable elevation to road has central 6-panelled double doors with pointed head and ashlar surround; flanking windows in similar openings have intricate Y-tracery. Central first-floor window has pointed head and ashlar surround with blank upper section and casement with glazing bars in the lower section. Steeply pitched roof with ashlar gable parapets. Inscribed tablet in centre of gable. "Weselyan Methodist Chapel Erected MDCCCXXXV". Sash windows with glazing bars to right side elevation and late C19 extensions to left. Pair of windows at rear have similar tracery to those at the front.

{3} Contemporary two-storied cottages flank the chapel (one demolished since 1967).
