Full Description

{1} Lodge. C.1849. Probably by J.G. Bland. Limestone ashlar with fishscale pattern slate roof. 2-unit plan with cross wing to left. Single-storey, 2-window range of 2- and 3-light stone mullions with dripstones and gables above. Ashlar gable parapets and kneelers. Ashlar stack at ridge. Inscription on cross wing gable, "In things transitory resteth no glory" with heraldic shield, swan and latin inscription above. Stone porch to left with C19 door. Lodge to Lamport Hall adjoining (q.v.) gate and gatepiers approx. 5 metres west of Swan Lodge (q.v.).
