Summary

A late 18th century gate lodge to Kelmarsh Hall. The lodge is constructed of rendered lias stone ashlar with a slate roof and is built to a "T-shaped" plan. Attached by low walls are two pairs of rusticated ashlar gatepiers: the wrought iron gates themselves are 20th century.

Full Description

{1} Lodge, gate and gate piers. Probably late C18. Lias ashlar and stucco with slate roof. T-shaped plan. Single storey. Sash window with glazing bars in gable end is set in arched recess. Ashlar gable parapets. Rendered stacks at ridge. Porch to left has doorcase with moulded and eared architraves with pulvinated frieze and cornice over. Two pairs of rusticated ashlar gate piers attached to left and linked by low walls and C20 wrought iron gates.

{2/7} North Lodge: A lodge with gate piers to Kelmarsh Hall. The lodge probably dates to the late 18th century. it is constructed of rendered lias stone ashlar with a slate roof and is built to a T-shaped plan. The building feature gabled pediments and the entrance. Attached by low walls are two pairs of rusticated ashlar gatepiers: the wrought iron gates themselves are 20th century.
