Full Description

{1} House. Probably late C17. Rendered cob with slate roof. One-unit plan. Single storey with attic, 2-window range of C20 casements. C20 door to right. Shallow pitched roof replaces earlier steeply pitched roof, brick stack at ridge. Interior not inspected. Included as an example of cob construction. (E. Mercer, English Vernacular Houses, 1975, p.191; pl.100).

{4} Described by Mercer in 1975 as 'probably built in the late 17th century'. At that date it is described as having a door at the north end, and a small window in the east wall (heck window) lighting the former fireplace, with a raised cruck roof, originally thatched.
