Full Description

{1} Manor house, now ruin. Mid C18. Built for Rokeby family. Brick.Originally E-plan. 2 storeys. Centre of 5-window range of sashes with glazing bars, centre bay projects with played corners to form porch with moulded stone doorcase having plain pilasters and pediment over. All windows have gauged brick arches. Left projecting wing has been demolished and range between that and the porch is ruinous. Right wing has canted end. Roof now removed, right wing only has C20 flat roof. Interior of right wing has staircase with quarter landings and turned balustrade. All floors have been removed. Traces of stone walls within the ruins probably of earlier house.

[4} Now two houses: the Old Manor and the Manor. A large part of the mid-18th century manor was pulled down in 1967. Stone walls were revealed, which must be from an earlier phase. Formerly a long brick building of two storeys and two projecting wings. The west wing has been reduced to one storey. The interior was altered in 1933 and completely refitted c1990.
