Full Description

{1} House. Dated 1685. Coursed squared ironstone, plain tile roof, stone end and ridge stacks. 2-unit central staircase plan. 2 storeys and attic; 3-window range. Principal front to garden has central 6-panel part-glazed door with chamfered timber lintel, a 3-light wood mullion and transom window with timber lintel to left, and a 2-light chamfered stone mullion window to right. 3-light casement windows to first floor with timber lintels except for C20 half-dormer to right. Two hipped roof dormers :> d gables with kneelers. Datestone inscribed RD/1685 incorporated in rear left flue. 2-light chamfered stone mullion windows with hood moulds to left gable end to ground, first and attic floors. A lower 2-storey C19 slate-roofed addition to right with C20 windows and back door. Attached pantile covered wall between garden and street. C19 school room wing to rear right of rendered brick with hipped slate roof to 12-pane horned sash windows to first floor, ground floor originally :> piers, now with C20 glazing. Interior has stop-chamfered spine beams and open fireplace with stop-chamfered cambered bressumer. Collar truss roof.
