Full Description

{1} Farmhouse. Dated 1685 with C18 and C19 additions. Coursed squared limestone, C19 courses above first floor windows, mostly ironstone; tile roof, blue brick end and ridge stacks on stone bases. 2 storeys and attic, 3-window range. 6-panel door in C20 timber porch right of centre. 3-light C19 casement windows to ground and first floors. 2-light attic windows in C19 coped gables, left and riht. All windows and door have timber lintels. Datestone inscribed RL/1685 to left of middle first floor window. Stone coped gables with kneelers. Another datestone just below right kneeler on left side inscribed AOO 1685/RLT. C19 rear wing to right side; other C19 extensions to rear. Interior has boxed spine beams.

{5} The Old Bake House is a single storey building fronting onto the main street to the east of the house. A large copper, much larger than those used for domestic purposes, suggests that it may have been used for brewing or for boiling up a 'mash' for livestock.
