Building record 649/0/3 - The Old School, School Street

{1} School now house. Mid C19. Red brick; stone dressings; slate roof with shaped slates and decorative ridge tiles. L-shaped in plan and in a minimum Tudor style. The left-hand side 2-storeyed and 3 bays. The central one containing the original door. The outer ones with little gables and each containing 2-light casement windows with diamond glazing bars. The right-hand side the former classroom. One storey with 3-light window with tracery in the style of circa 1300. Bellcote; tall chimney to the right above and behind a gabled porch.

{2} Infant school, Drayton. Built 1859 with accommodation for mistress, had links with schools in Daventry. Later used as a Sunday School. The building is still in existence and is in use as a domestic residence. Very decorative, swiss cottage style building. Film 8 photo 10.
