Full Description

{1} Farmhouse and attached stable and barn. Barn is probably late C18, farmhouse is early/mid C19 with reused C17 masonry. Regular coursed limestone with slate and pantile roofs. Originally 2-unit farmhouse with integral stable attached. 2 storeys, part hayloft over stables. 5-window range of C19 casements with wood lintels. 2 first floor and 4 ground floor windows have moulded stone jambs and one first floor window has moulded stone head. Moulded stone arch head door opening with keyblocks to rig t gives access to stables, and plank door with stone lintel to far left is to house. Brick stack at ridge. Rear of house has two 2-light stone mullion windows. Barn attached to right of main front has slit vents. Rear has central cart entrance with moulded stone segmental arch head. Interior of house: one reset fielded panelled door. Carved masonry is probably reused from Kirby Hall (q.v.).
