{1} Coach-house, now estate office, garages and dwellings. Late C17/early C18 altered C20. Rectangular 2-storey, 7-bay range. Coursed limestone rubble with limestone dressings, pantile roof, stone end and internal stacks. On side facing west range of Castle Ashby (q.v.) plain ashlar pilasters define bays. C20 garage doors to centre and bay left of right end bay. Stone cross windows to other bays with moulded stone surrounds. 4 gabled roof dormers and stone-coped gables with kneelers. Irregular rear elevation with central panelled door with overlight in moulded stone surround flanked by wood mullion and transom windows with wood lintels. Other later doors to far left and to right of centre with wood lintels and right with flat-arched head. Central doors to gable ends and single-storey link to left of probably C19 date joining building to stable block (q.v.). The building appears on an estate map of 1760 when it was detached and formed part of a formal composition with Stable block which then extended in U-plan round the building, since partly demolished.
