Although much altered, surviving evidence for the earlier house can be seen in the wall of the existing property. In the second quarter of the 18th century the layout was changed to reflect current fashion. A three-bay symmetrical arrangement resulted, with a centrl door leading to a central, narrower staircase bay flanked by similar size rooms.
