{3} Analysis, plan and section, photographs. Three phases of building can be identified, beginning in the late 15th or early 16th century with a two-bay, two-storey timber-framed house. Smoke-blackened roof timbers survive from this house. Map evidence indicates that by 1727 {4}, another bay had been built to the south, and finally in the 19th century a non-domestic bay was added. It was known as the Blue Bell Inn from 1727 until at least 1917 when it was converted to a private dwelling.
